So I got a phone call out of the blue today from Swinton Lions' (the rugby league team I write about and cover for a few media outlets) Chairman John Kidd, he said he wanted to speak to me but as I was in work, he sent me an e-mail instead...
The e-mail offered me the voluntary (ie unpaid) position of Swinton's publicity officer - would this be too much work on a Sunday? Considering I am without transport, Toni wants me to do other stuff on certain weekends/festivals and I already do work (paid work at that!) for the Press Association, a rugby league paper and the Salford Advertiser?
At the moment, I'm leaning towards it all being too much, so do I drop some paid stuff and risk being fucked over by a club renowned for short termism or politely decline..? Hmmmmm!
Apart from that and the promise of seeing all of my girlfriend's lovely family, the day really dragged today! I can't wait for the long weekend, a chance to contemplate this offer some more and also to have a few beers..! |
